New project! i need everybody's help.

As a young Haitian living abroad I find fewer and fewer occasion/ situation lately that make me proud of my country. We sure have a big history, our ancestor have made so much sacrifice to give us this land that we all call home. For quite some time now, we have engaged on a wrong path heading only to self destruction. It’s not too late; we can still find the light at the end of that long tunnel.
We all say it; the youth is our only hope, when do we start helping them? It is sad to say but my generation came out short, we miss our chance at bringing that change, fulfilling that hope, still, there is a lot we can do. We can start the process by drawing the pavement if not just by showing the way. So our children can live a better life.
Personally, I don’t have much interest in fund raising and all that kind of thing, I leave that to those that are good at it, because yes we need money, yes we need food, but our problems are far more complex. We need a better instruction/education system Most importantlythis generation coming up needs better role models. “Our minds and souls are as angry as our stomach”. Don’t get me wrong, we need money to take Haiti out of that hole, it’s just this is not where I want to go now. Money alone will change nothing; it’s time for us to rebuild our society around value. I am talking about basic human value like for every one to have access to food, clean water, shelter, for every child to have access to school and healthcare…

We need to restore our pride! As Toussaint Louverture and Jean Jacques Dessalines descent, we need to show the world that we deserve that piece of paradise and that all that blood shed in 1804, wasn’t jus another massacre but a fight for justice and redemption.

I have an idea: THIS IS THE BIG PROJECT!!! Let’s start a movement where the objective is to praise ourselves. Not in a narcissistic way, not to be self centered, but for once let’s praise every one of us that is doing something special, out of the ordinary let’s just celebrate our genius in all domain in Haiti or overseas from the student having exceptional grade to the engineer with the new breakthrough invention, the artist, the sportsman…every accomplishment that could make us proud and inspire our youth. Let’s put the spotlight on those people and create the opportunity for new “Role Model”

Be part of this movement, send me your stories, it could be you, a friend a family member or just something you’ve heard. For a change let’s praise each other, we’ve been killing each other for way TOO LONG.
